Fall Favorites

Fall is by far my favorite season. It is a time of change: the end of summer, the falling of leaves, and the beginning of a new chapter. With all this change- the colors of leaves, the cooler weather, new school years and sports start, we are given the opportunity to reinvent ourselves a little. Be it our attitude, our attire, or atmosphere. Plus the cozy sweaters, tall boots, apple cider and of course HALLOWEEN!

Attitude

Every September children go back to school to start a new grade and learn more not only about science and math and other curriculum but about themselves. They grow and change each school year, and this begins in the fall. So why don’t adults continue this? I have a challenge for you all- one I am embarking on as well- begin your growth in fall. Make those changes you told yourself you would during your New Year’s resolutions. Learn a new skill, create a new habit: Anything! I am getting organized: my office needs a new system for filing, I am changing my closet around, and I am meal prepping!

Attire

Cozy sweaters are one of my all-time favorite things to wear and I go a little nutty in fall. The deeper hues- the orange, yellow, and browns that felt out of place in the summer come out to play. I joke you can tell what season it is by the color of my hair; every year like clockwork I dye my hair from the light blonde of summer to the deep burgundy of the start of fall. With this process, I really get into the spirit. (Speaking of which- Halloween is almost here! Keep an eye out on my social media accounts for my Halloween hacks!) Early fall fashion, in my opinion, is the best and that is why fall parties are my favorite! It’s Bonfire season and I am ready to host a Bonfire Bash!

Atmosphere

BRING ON THE PUMPKIN SPICE! Just kidding. There is more to fall than just pumpkins, especially early on. We have:

Apples: Orchards, Cider, Scents, Colors, Pies

What goes better with apples than cinnamon. It is a powerful scent that just feels like Fall! Earlier this month I posted about cinnamon wrapped candles. A great addition to these is if you chose an apple scented candle to wrap! Your house will smell like apple pie in no time! If you aren’t much of DIYer, simply buy a cinnamon scented candle.

If candles aren’t your thing, you can create faux-apples and other fall items like acorns. We recently made these for our kitchen and love them: Crocheted Apples and Acorns!
